The Washington Post is well known for its leadership and storied history, with figures like Ben Bradlee and Katharine Graham becoming iconic symbols of the paper's coverage of important events like the Pentagon Papers and Watergate.
The Graham family dynasty, which led the Post for decades, eventually passed the stewardship of the newspaper to Katharine Graham's granddaughter, Katharine Weymouth, who hired Martin Baron as executive editor in 2012.
Under Weymouth's leadership, the newspaper business was struggling and she eventually sold the Washington Post to Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon. [ more ]
